2 John

¹ From: The Elder

To: A chosen lady and her children, whom I truly love (and not I alone, but also everyone who knows the truth) ² because of the truth that stays present among us and will be with us throughout the Age.

³ Generosity, loving faithfulness, and peace will be with us from Father God and from Jesus Christ the Son of the Father with truth and love. ⁴ I celebrated a great deal because I have found some of your children walking according to the truth, like the direction we received from the Father.

⁵ Now, I request of you, Lady (not as writing a new direction for you but what we’ve had from the beginning), that we should love each other. ⁶ (and this is love: that we would walk according to God’s directions.) This is the direction, just as you heard from the beginning, that you would walk according to it. ⁷ You see, many misleaders went out to the world, those who don’t acknowledge Jesus having come as the embodiment of Christ. Each one is a misleader and competing christ. ⁸ Watch yourselves, that you don’t lose everything we worked for but collect full payment.

⁹ Everyone who oversteps and doesn’t stay within the teaching of Christ does not have God. Whoever does stay within the teaching has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If anyone comes to you and doesn’t carry this teaching, don’t take them into your house, and don’t encourage them to celebrate ¹¹ because whoever encourages them to celebrate is complicit in their harmful actions.

¹² While I have many things to write to you, I don’t intend to do it with paper and ink, but I hope to come be with you and speak face-to-face, so our joy can be complete that way.

¹³ The children of your chosen sister wish you well.
